A graduate of Cambridge University, John Cruickshank specialises in strategic advisory work in health IT and digital health. Over his 30-year career in the sector he has gained deep insight of healthcare culture, processes, people and systems in the UK and internationally. He founded and successfully sold a leading niche IT consulting firm in the 90s and then was healthcare industry lead for a major systems integrator. As a consultant, he has advised over fifty different NHS Trusts on IT strategies as well as many suppliers. He specialises in helping clients see the ‘wood from the trees’, and breaking down complex issues where the way forward is unclear, turning broad concepts into pragmatic and manageable plans. He is a nationally recognised thought leader as the lead author of seven recently published reports for the think-tank 2020health that have measurably impacted government policy.
